The first admin user will be onboarded by T2 Data.

The onboarding process is a quick and simple process adding the first user as an admin, having the necessary permissions to set up and administer the SBOM Central service.

Permissions in sections Activities, Source code, Issues, and Tests are not valid here, all settings are omitted by SBOM Central.

After logging in, the admin user have two initial tasks to perform:

1. Change user password. Click on the avatar/username in the upper right corner to open the user page. Click on Edit to open the "Edit user" dialog to change the password.
2. Upload the SBOM Central license file. Open the "Feature licenses" page in the Settings menu in the upper right corner. Click the "Upload license file" button , and upload the license file received from T2 Data.

Create the first team.

Open the main menu and select "Teams". Then, on the Teams page, click "Create" to create your first team, edit the name, and write a short description.

The next step is to set the team's permissions. Click on the the newly created team link to open the team page. If it is a SBOM management team where the members are to upload, manage, and analyze SBOMs, the settings below is a good starting point.

Now add users.

Select Users page in the main menu. Click on the "Create" button to add new users.

1. Edit Name.
2. Edit email address (login name will automatically be copied to the Login name field).
3. Set "local auth" active.
4. Set a temporary password.

Add users to the team.

Open the Team page again. Click on "Edit members" to select team members.

When saving, all included users are now activated and will be able to login to SBOM Central.

All users will inherit the current Team permissions.

If one or more members will act as team administrators it is possible to add permissions to individual users. Click on the "Edit permissions" button for the user to open the permissions dialog to add permissions. Below an "super user" example

For all users:

Login to change your user information. Click on the avatar/username in the upper right corner to open the user page. Click on Edit to open the "Edit user" dialog.

1. Upload an Avatar image (optional).
2. Activate "Mail notification" if you want to receive email notifications.
3. Select "Default team" (selected at login) if you are member of multiple teams.
4. Change the password.

Before uploading, ensure you have a Software Bill of Materials (SBOM) prepared in the CycloneDX-json format.

You can download example SBOMs from https://sbomcentral.support/examples/.

Open the SBOMs index page from the side menu:

Push the Upload button to open the dialog and select an SBOM file.

When the SBOM is uploaded it will show in the table in the index page.

Now your first SBOM is uploaded. Examine the How-to chapter to learn more about SBOM management, analysis and more.
